A Port Douglas to Palm Cove then Sugar Wharf Wedding
Sugar Wharf Wedding Photographer Shaun Guest.
Dani and Colby prepared for their wedding in Oak Beach near Port Douglas. They then took a drive to the beachside Allamanda Chapel in Palm Cove where they held their ceremony. Then they turned around and made their way back to Port Douglas in a restored Tiffany blue Kombi wedding bus. The reception was held at the Port Douglas Sugar Wharf. Just a bit of extra driving, but we managed to break it up with some incredible locations for their wedding photo’s. The Sugar Wharf well and truly went off that night. To top it all off Dani and Colby were later awarded the Australian Bride Magazine “bride of the year ” award!! How awesome is that !!.. 2 weeks in FIJI. Check it out.
I’ve photographed so many Sugar Wharf wedding receptions. The key to a beautiful wedding on the Sugar Wharf is lighting. The Sugar Wharf is a beautiful, WOW factor venue but it really requires some specific theming to create that wedding reception ambience. Lighting is the key element to creating ambience. The Sugar Wharf can be easily moulded into any theme from elegant class to rustic chic with the right theming. To book
All of the theming at the reception was supplied by Dani And Colby. They made the 3 day road trip from Mildura, along with a set of in laws and a car full of wedding props, all the way to Port Douglas. By all reports it was a long drive but It can be done. The wedding dress was made by the amazing Hilde Heim. The Ceremony was held at The Allamanda Wedding Chapel in Palm Cove. Flowers by IVY. The Photobooth is mine and it’s awesome so if you want one then hit me up for the details.
