Bali Hai Wedding, Port Douglas Photography – Teagan & Ashley
Bali Hai is an incredible Balinese inspired executive retreat nestled on top of a little rainforest hill 20 mins from Port Douglas. It’s the perfect location for a private wedding and one of few venues that can hold a wedding reception for up around 100 guests. It also happens to be a mecca for beautiful wedding photographs with amazing spots within it’s own grounds as well as other local wedding photography favourites , Newell Beach and Port Douglas near by. This images is from Teagan & Ashley’s Bali Hai Reception. They stood on the edge of the horizon pool to watch their fireworks. If you would like any other information on private houses within the Port Douglas region you can contact Executive Retreats . They have some incredible properties on their books.

Port Douglas Wedding Photography – The Sugar Wharf
The Port Douglas Sugar Wharf has become such a popular wedding venue over the past few years. It’s a great spot for a wedding ceremony and a perfect location for a wedding reception. It’s tucked away behind the St Mary’s by the Sea, a popular wedding chapel in Port Douglas with it’s own little beach and cove. It overlooks the coral sea and rainforest covered mountains making it the perfect spot for your casual photos of your guests enjoying canapes and a cocktail while watching the sun set. If you would like more information on the Port Douglas Sugar Wharf you can contact your marriage celebrant , wedding caterer or call me for some advice. Always happy to help.

I don’t have any spare time at the moment, moving house, moving office. Albums to design, plenty of work to do. BUT the website is dated, I don’t love it anymore. So instead of sleep, I’m slowly plugging away at it.
The same but different is the way to go, a bit more info, MUCH better galleries and images, a new lease on life. Oh and this blog will no longer be hidden deep within it’s bowels , hopefully save me from the madness of talking to myself. ( I do wonder ?? If your out there say hi in the comments
)
Here’s a glimpse, but it will probably change, has about 4 times to date
oh and that image is a tasty little slideshow.

Port Douglas Wedding Photography specialize in lonely late night web design, but I leave the technical stuff to the team at Just Purple

Port Douglas Weddings, The Sugar Wharf.
Right behind St Mary’s by the Sea, is the historic Sugar Wharf which is quickly becoming a very popular spot for Port Douglas wedding receptions. It was once a working cargo wharf but at different stages has also been a shipwreck museum a restaurant and my mother used to also go to the Saturday night dance there over 40 years ago.

As a wedding venue it’s a fantastic choice. For starters it’s right on the water in the center of Port Douglas with incredible ocean and mountain views and a beach and beautiful park at the back. It has large indoor weather proof areas, enough for tables, dance floor, a band separate area for the caterers , pretty much whatever you might need. The outside boardwalk area is perfect for either a casual standing cocktail and canape reception or a beautifully themed outdoor seated reception. And aside from all of this it takes great photographs. Take a look

Classic Port Douglas Wedding Transport
Your Port Douglas Wedding, St Mary's by the Sea.

Blythe & Brad, st Mary's by the Sea, Port Douglas
So most of you guys are from somewhere other than Cairns or Port Douglas, infact about 95% of my brides and grooms are either interstate or international. Some of you have never even been to the area and won’t see it until you arrive just before your wedding. So I thought I’d be a good and helpful photographer and show you all around.
Probably the obvious place to start in regards to weddings would be St Mary’s by the Sea. This little historical non denominational chapel was first built in the 1880’s. It is an Icon of Port Douglas and is literally a husband and wife making machine. It’s sits perfectly in the beautiful Port Douglas parkland, at the mouth of the Dickson inlet with views looking north along the tropical coast towards Snapper Island and the Daintree rainforest and the amazing volcano like Thornton’s peak. (It’s not a Volcano but it looks like one).
The inside of the Chapel sits about 80-100 on beautiful silky oak pews has fantastic locally themed stain glass windows and an enormous glass altar window
so you can be married overlooking the amazing coastal views I mentioned earlier. This window also gives THE BEST LIGHT at any chapel up here for wedding photography.
Anyway thats enough from me, Google it for more info’ here’s some images from the St Mary’s wedding ceremony of Blythe & Brad . If you have any questions please load them as a comment and I’ll get back to you .
AHEM… Best to check actual seating numbers with Rob or Jackie from ‘Port Douglas Weddings’ the chapels sole booking agents. They offer a bunch of packages with most things included that will suit just about everyone.. But you can still use Port Douglas Photography for your wedding images.
