Posted by Shaun on July 13th, 2010Port Douglas family portraits !! – Little Henry
Posted by Shaun on June 23rd, 2010So with the tourists come the portraits. It’s perfect timing, everyones busy at home with work and sports and whatever else it is that takes up all of their time. So being together on a family holiday with nothing but family time, it just makes sense. I love these sessions, can’t wait to see who stops by this year.
Here’s little Henry from yesterday mornings shoot. He experienced his first wave and got a little sand between his toes. Needed a bit of help standing up in the 30 knot winds though, hahaha. Little bugger. ![]()

Port Douglas Wedding Photography – texture
Posted by Shaun on March 3rd, 2010I’ve been playing around with the idea of adding texture to images, It’s a bit of a fad at the moment. I like the effect but wouldn’t use it for every image. I’m a big believer in clean sharp images with bold but natural color. I think they have more of a timeless quality that dates better. In saying that this textured effect has a fine art painterly quality that when used well and to a couples style, can really make certain images shine. What do you think?

I can’t wait get to the end already so I can look back over the years folio. I’ve changed my packages this year also and expect them to be very blog friendly, meaning that I should be stopping by here more often.
Here are a few pics from the Port Douglas wedding of Alison & Dean. They were married here late last year in Rex Smeal park, a casual wedding out on the point under the coconut palms. We had a great time on the shoot just taking a stroll around the park. Nice and natural ,I’ll post some more soon.

Port Douglas Wedding photography
Posted by Shaun on November 18th, 2009Ok, I know it’s been a while. I’ve been so busy getting portraits and weddings out to couples before Christmas that I’ve had to neglect the blog.
Here are a couple of recent pics to tie you over until I make everything blog worthy.
This Is Adam & Eva ……Really. They had an intimate private ceremony in the oldest rainforest in the world with only their immediate family at the beautiful Shambala, a private house in the hills of Whyanbeal. Really, really beautiful.
So… I’ve photographed an Adam & Eva in a garden of Eden ( well Whyanbeal ). And yes, there were fruit trees and snakes . It’s on my resume’.
Cheers,
Shaun.
Cairns Wedding Photography – The wedding of Katie & Ross
Posted by Shaun on October 4th, 2009Yesterday I photographed the wedding of Katie & Ross. Ross is a Cairns local and Katie’s from somewhere in the US? Laid back but not at the sacrifice of a bit of cool Trinity beach wedding style. It’s great what you can do with a swimming pool, knocked up sign , some Bali flags, a guitar, a bunch of family and friends a pristine VW Kombi and the grace of Whitfield house. – Great wedding guys – Congrat’s !!
